The Altar Society on Sunday, November 6th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall provided this annual celebration. For $10 turkey and all the trimmings was served by Clem Mikeska BBQ along with drink and dessert. Doors opened at 10:00am and serving time operated from 11:00am to 1:30pm. A silent auction, craft, gourmet, green plant and country store booths were also part of the event. First prize raffle item was a 5 burner gas grill, 2nd prize a queen-size hand-stitched quilt from the Altar Society Quilting Angels, 3rd prize a $150 VISA card. A one-hour airplane ride was 4th prize and a Keurig 2.0 Coffee Brewer is 5th prize. It was a fun day!

Thank you to everyone who prepared, decorated, attended, spoke and enjoyed our Annual Gala event. It was the first time we used the format with speakers, and although it went a bit long, we hope you found their inspiring words. Look for announcements about upcoming events. FESTIVAL NEWS for April, 2016 FESTIVAL:
2016 Spring Festival has come and gone. Here are some of the details that helped to make this a day of fun, fellowship, and SUCCESS!!! Volunteers maximized their involvement, contribution, and FUN! Many, many people signed up to serve the games, auctions, booths, and food, and provide for the safety, fun, and fellowship of everyone. The committee built a great team of volunteers who worked vigorously on Festival preparations. Many hands make light work.
Envelopes of raffle tickets, to be sold, were distributed after mass or through the parish office. Awesome sponsors promoted great prizes. People and businesses underwrote the cost of food for the event. Many meetings were held at the Parish Office every Wednesday at 6:30pm. Chairperson Andrew Lambert (828-808-7382 or firstname.lastname@example.org) led and remained readily available as did his support staff of volunteers. The St. Mary's Parish Festival was an awesome success.
