On Saturday morning December 3, our Youth Ministry gathered together on campus to load up and head out for Bethlehem. This program takes place in the town of Burnett where part of the square on Main street transports you back 2000 years to the street of Bethlehem Israel. The youth experienced many people in period costumes throughout the entire day, they touched camels, donkeys, and various animals as you would have experienced in the days of Christ. As they walked through the town, the smell of bread cooking and the campfires gave them a realistic image of conversations had by shepherds. As they turned the corner the “no vacancy” sign at David’s Inn reminds them that they must exit the gate to find the stable. This road trip made the reality of the season ahead more meaningful for them all.
We had 17 youths attend this outing and we are looking forward to our future growth. Thank you so much to our parents who chaperoned this event.
Thank you Fr. Kurtis for your prayers and blessing upon the youth as they were leaving campus.
On Sunday, December 4th we were visited after all Masses by St. Nickolas! The kids were so excited to meet St. Nick and were given free books, sugar cookies to decorate, and gift bags of goodies, and all were served a delicious breakfast consisting of bacon, sausage, and pancakes! Thank you to Tom Wilson who played St. Nick and to all WOMEN’S Ministry for this timeless tradition of love and faith.
